The location is quiet and great close enough to walk to Takayama to join the festival. Rakubo Hiro, where you can eat lunch, is within walking distance of the hotel, appreciated this place.

Spotless and authentic room, had a wonderful stay for 2 nights. Particularly nice breakfast with variety of great foods. Good location so close to Hida Folk Village and Teddy bear museum as well as town centre up a hill, could not be better. Free parking on site provided.

My room at Oyado Hachibei was extremely spacious and had a lovely view of the rice fields with traditional Japanese interior. I really enjoyed the nice design of the hotel and found the staff to be super friendly, especially on their shuttle bus after check-out. - the hotel is located in a remote setting in the center of town, which offered a peaceful atmosphere. - There are plenty of dining options nearby. I particularly liked Masa Shokuji Dokoro, which was only a 20-minute walk away.

We had an amazing stay in a charming traditional Japanese ryokan. Our room was spacious, comfortable and well-furnished, with warm futons, tatami mats, and large windows overlooking the stunning countryside. We enjoyed the fantastic breakfast, consisting of delicious local specialties, and the excellent onsen, with a relaxing outdoor hot tub. the friendly owner went out of his way to ensure we had a wonderful experience and provided free shuttle service to nearby attractions.
It may be tricky to navigate to the hotel without a car, but the shuttle service makes up for it.

The breakfast was really good and the staff was friendly. the rooms were comfortable and the traditional onsen was very relaxing after a tiring day. I liked that they provided traditional cotton robes, toiletries, and towels. the shuttle bus service to the train station was a convenient ride.
This hotel is located a bit far from the city center and the location is difficult to access. the owners were not very welcoming and did not respond to my emails about dinner.

I thoroughly enjoyed the traditional Japanese decoration throughout the hotel. The tatami mats, sliding doors, and beautiful woodwork made me feel like I was truly experiencing the culture. The common areas were well-maintained and had a cozy atmosphere, perfect for relaxing after a long day of exploring. , the hotel's accessibility for senior people was impressive. There were handrails in the hallways and stairs, making it easier for us to navigate around. The children working there were always ready to assist and were very considerate of our needs.
I would have appreciated a few more options for activities specifically designed for senior guests. Perhaps some gentle exercise or traditional crafts that we could participate in would have made our vacation even better.
